Engineering Materials Management

The Material Management department, is a team of professionals with extensive knowledge and experience of complex issues within the field. The team is organised along commodity lines; Cabin, IFE, Airframe, Engines, Inventory Control and Operations Support, as well as a dedicated team managing Rotable Components and Outstation support.

The section's prime responsibility is to ensure timely availability of spares and components to support material demands at main base and across the network in most cost effective manner. This is carried out by establishing optimum re-order and safety levels, evaluating & forecasting requirements, initiating purchase requests and co-ordinating with Procurement department for timely deliveries of spares on Purchase & Repairs Orders. The department is also responsible for the management & control of entire inventory, including its data accuracy, stock verification and surplus evaluations follows the highest standards of quality and safety policies, as defined by aviation agencies such as GCAA, ATA, FAA, EASA. One of its core functions is to provide 24X7 support for Critical/AOG requirements of all aircraft maintenance spares activities & operations. The team also arranges operations support at outstations through Pooling Loans and Borrowing.

A spares supply service and AOG support is provided 24 hours a day in Dubai, as well as at all Emirates outstations. Being a member of the IATP, spares and equipment are pooled at several stations to support Emirates and other airlines.
