The IFE Projects team are product specialists and IFE systems engineering professionals. They employ their in-depth IFE knowledge and project management skills to successfully define, develop, install and deliver some of the worlds most advanced in-flight entertainment systems. 

A typical product development process involves:

  • Developing detailed IFE system requirements by working closely with OEMs (such as Boeing and Airbus), Emirates In-flight Services and Product Marketing departments. Establishing general product vision and direction as communicated by the airline’s/operator’s, senior management and IFE suppliers
  • Coordinating and monitoring various development milestones such as preliminary design review, critical design review, first article inspection, and system acceptance test and system integration activities with IFE supplier, seat manufacturers, third party suppliers/integrators and OEMs
  • Closely monitoring guide and support of BFE list definition for IFE product
  • Providing follow up and support for IFE system installation/integration activities on the aircraft
  • Verifying that the IFE product development conforms to system requirements
  • Inspecting and supporting aircraft customer walk and IFE acceptance process
  • Helping establish IFE recommended spare parts list for spares procurement prior to entry into service
  • Closely negotiating IFE delivery commitment list items
  • Organising and supporting IFE service readiness activities and various in-house training tasks for line maintenance, engineering and cabin crew teams
  • Coordinating and supporting the retrofit processes by working closely with STC certification houses and airline base maintenance/installation teams 
  • Ensuring that the various maintenance documents such as aircraft maintenance documentations (AMM’s), component maintenance manuals (CMM’s), shop maintenance manuals, BITE description documents, wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, fault isolation manuals, troubleshooting manuals and other relevant software tools are developed and delivered from the suppliers well before the aircraft’s entry into service
