Maintenance Planning is a significant component of the Emirates Engineering team.

Maintenance Planning are responsible for ensuring the maintenance compliance of the fleet, managing the relationship between the commercial flying and the maintenance programmes. Their primary objective is to ensure aircraft are safe, compliant and made available to service the flying program and meet the needs of our passengers.

This is achieved by clear and professional communication with all interfacing departments and collating and structuring information to deliver the highest possible standard of product.

The Maintenance Planning section consists of over 65 staff, working in the diverse fields of Maintenance Planning, Modification Planning, Maintenance Programmes, Aircraft Scheduling and Reliability.

Maintenance Planning

The Maintenance Planning teams are central to the creation and development of all aircraft maintenance inputs. Providing maintenance teams to the Line, Base, Heavy Maintenance and Third Party Maintenance Organisations with ZERO problem work packs, they maximise available ground time and provide optimum opportunities for success.

Modification Planning

This team is critical to the implementation of modifications to the Emirates fleet, they manage over eight thousand modifications per year to aircraft and components, ensuring that they are campaign managed into the fleet and are completed within set limitations. They also are central to aircraft phase out and major overhaul programmes.

Maintenance Programmes

This team launches all maintenance schedules. Their work ensures our continuing compliance with the regulatory requirements and the ever-changing face of maintenance needs of the various aircraft types in the fleet.

They are a major influence on all scheduled maintenance and activities and the philosophies that surround fleet maintenance. They are fundamental to the future success of Emirates Engineering and Emirates Group as a whole.

Aircraft Scheduling

This team is the front line of maintenance planning, and is central to all maintenance activity and dictate the ground time required to accomplish the work needed to keep aircraft available with the minimum of disruption to the flight schedule. They provide 24/7 support and play a vital role in the short, medium and long range planning of maintenance slots with all stations and third party activities.

Reliability

This team is responsible for the continuing review of aircraft despatch and component reliability. They are crucial to the gathering of intelligence on component failure to ensure any potential future failures can be predicted and in turn, reducing delays and cancellations. They are a key relationship point for all Emirates Engineering vendors and are central to the successful development of future maintenance programmes.
