
The Maintenance Control Centre (MCC) is situated within the Engineering Centre at Dubai International Airport. Maintenance Control operates on a 24-hour basis with four separate shifts manned with both Aircraft and Avionics Engineers. Each shift is managed by a Duty Manager Maintenance Control who reports directly to Senior Vice President - Engineering Line Maintenance and Operations .
The responsibilities of MCC include:
- Acting as the main focal point for all senior management with regard to Outstation AOG’s
and Emirates fleet defect status
- Handling of all aspects of delay/AOG situation at Outstations by providing technical support to and co-ordination of rescue operations
- Control of follow-up and rectification of deferred defects at every opportunity, including the planning of spares for repair of defects at Outstations where suitable ground time is available
- Monitoring of repetitive defects to ensure that trouble shooting and rectification is done
before any scheduled interruption and to provide a structured and logical action plan for
all such defects to prevent duplication of effort and unnecessary wastage of spare parts
and time.
